Hi, Don, Each time I’d come to this haiku as I was trying to vote for my favorites it placed highly. My only problem was that each day I came up with different favorites. While I didn’t finally vote it as a favorite I wrote a lamenting piece on all the haiku I had to leave behind…which day after day became my favorites as they hit the nail on the head of different days, different situations. Today, I’ve been meandering along the cracks of the ice too… finally saw the light… Today your haiku says it all. Many thanks. Merrill
Hi Merrill,
Thanks for sharing your story. I really appreciate it! While the art of haiku strikes me quite strongly, it is the wonderful sharing and interaction between reader and poet that delights me the most!
Hi, Don, I think you are very right. I find that the friendships haiku has brought me over the years are a great deal more rewarding than the publication of my haiku. There’s a delight in responding to someone with a haiku that is an instantly shared experience. I often find that rating haiku is a very unfortunate thing indeed since we miss so much of the understanding that can come from exploring the truth in each that is born from the experience of others.
I love this…meandering..it’s lovely.
Thank you!

BBrrrr, sounds cold to me! Do be careful around the ice cracks, lol!
Presents a lazy walk in the moonlight around ice. Cold, but romantic.

I enjoy your haiku, Don! Hope to see you at a haiku program sometime.
Best wishes,
